Unser HeldOur visiting hero

Knight of the realm. Breaker of the Black Marsh. Stormer of eleven castles. Our visiting hero, and his own biggest admirer.
Sir Roderick Vane is an English knight in his forties: brave, polite, theatrical and entirely sincere. He narrates his own legend as he goes, and he is usually right about it.
He has stormed eleven castles. Prunkenstein is the first that has ever let him in, and he took it as a sign of his reputation. He came to break the Curse of the Stars and bring the Tyrant King to account, and he has no doubt whatsoever that he will.
He keeps the proper code of heroism to the letter: he always announces himself, he never strikes a foe from behind, and he thanks the merchant. He does not speak a word of German, which the staff have noticed, and he has not.
Ein BriefA letter
Re: The Curse of the Stars, and its prompt removal
To the people of Prunkenstein, and to whom it may concern,
I write to inform you that the Curse of the Stars is to be broken, promptly and in person, by myself.
I have reviewed the dungeon. It is a fine one: goblins, archers, traps of fire, legendary treasure in every chest, a merchant of the finest wares and a master's forge. There is, I understand, a dragon. I look forward to it.
The Tyrant King is advised to expect me. I shall be the one coming down the stairs.
R. Vane

AusrüstungHis kit

Strike, block, and parry on the beat. The stag on the shield is braver than it looks.

Taken from the gate's archer, for foes out of reach: bats, archers and anything with a dragon's wings.

Found on its plinth in the Treasure Room. It hums. No shield will stop it.
